As Assistant Coach of the Southern Peninsula, Big V Women's basketball team, I had the privilege of spending last weekend at a team-building campsite called 'The Summit' in Trafalgar. In preparation for the start of a new season, where our team has been promoted to Division One, Glenn & I decided a boot camp was the best way to get the girls ready to kick into the new year.
From two thirteen year old 'rookies'... to a 31 year old mother of two, our squad of enthusiastic girls/women showed what a 'never give up attitude' can achieve. After being strapped into the Largest Giant swing in Southern Hemisphere, the girls drove 'Suzie' a uniquely adapted car around a challenging course, then conquered the Leap of Faith, climbed challenging Rock Walls, walked the Tight-Rope, crawled through mud & tunnels and then when the girls were exhuasted, completed the famous Monster Course!
Once again, these girls have challenged and inspired me to consider what can actually be achieved when individuals come together as a team and set their minds on achieving a task... no matter how difficult.
Can't wait to see what this group of awesome individuals are going to achieve as the bond together as a TEAM this season!
